Noble Research Institute consultant named Educator of the Year

ARDMORE, Okla. — Noble Research Institute Livestock Consultant Robert Wells, Ph.D., was recently selected as the 2016 Oklahoma Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Educator of the Year.

Wells has educated producers since 2008, and received the program's inaugural educator award in 2009.

"We congratulate Robert on this well-deserved honor," said Hugh Aljoe, Noble Research Institute producer relations manager. "This recognition of his as a trainer exemplifies his dedication to our regional producers in promoting the best management practices for agriculture and the beef industry."

The Oklahoma BQA program is designed to help maximize consumer confidence and acceptance of beef by focusing on producers' attention to daily production practices that influence the safety, wholesomeness and quality of beef and beef products.

"I am honored to be chosen for this award," Wells said. "BQA promotes the best management practices that ranchers should embrace and promotes quality practices for the cattle sector. Therefore, it is easy for me to be enthusiastic about supporting the program and educating cattle producers."

The Oklahoma Beef Council recognizes those who dedicate their time and effort to ensure the success of the state's BQA program.

"BQA training would not happen without the initiative and dedication of Oklahoma trainers like Dr. Wells," said Tom Fanning, chairman of the Oklahoma Beef Council. "We are fortunate to have him and his leadership as part of our BQA team."
