Motal serves as a research associate in the range ecology and technology group. He joined the Noble Research Institute in May 1993.
Motal has been interested in agriculture since childhood when his father was the ranch manager for the Incarnate Word Convent. Growing up, he assisted many producers by providing labor in many areas of ranch work. He assisted his father in managing the Sutton Mott Ranch in Victoria County, Texas. Before moving to Oklahoma, he helped convert the ranch from a continuous grazing system to a rotational grazing system and from a year-round calving season to a fall calving season as well as implementing different management practices to improve the land.
Frank grew up in Victoria, Texas.
